On behalf of the United Liberation Movement for West Papua and the people of West Papua, I would like to express my deepest condolences to the people and government of Vanuatu for the loss of their great leader, former prime minister, Donald Kalpokas. We hope that the people of Vanuatu can celebrate his legacy and his dedication to the nation he loved.
Prime Minister Kalpokas was a long-standing supporter of our struggle, one of the earliest internationally to stand with us. Every individual who take a stand against injustice and stands on the side of the oppressed makes a mark on the history of the world. His name will be recorded in the history of the West Papuan liberation movement.
The people of West Papua will always remember the great leaders of Vanuatu, from Father Walter Lini to Donald Kalpokas to today. The people of Vanuatu always stay strong in solidarity and support for the people of West Papua. Through good and bad, you support our struggle, and we will always be with you in return. My thoughts and prayers for all affected by this sad news.
